Abstracts Consulting Grants serve a wide variety of organizations to strengthen partnerships, through a roster of over 20 arts in healthcare professionals from around the U.S. Consultations can provide advice on programs utilizing a diversity of arts media including performing arts, visual arts, literature, film, or design as well as interdisciplinary programs serving an equally wide array of patient populations and clients.
Society for the Arts in Healthcare Consulting Grants are not traditional monetary grants. Rather, consultants provide "technical assistance," or information and advice to organizations, that many find to be an important form of support. This advice can include answering specific questions about the arts in healthcare field - such as what to consider when exhibiting in a healthcare environment or how to fundraise for arts in healthcare programs.
Society for the Arts in Healthcare Consulting Grants provide time with a Society Consultant for a specific number of hours, either in person, through e-mail, or by phone. The assigned consultant and client decide the timeline and format that will work best, whether its meeting in person for a day-long retreat, or a series of three conference calls over a two-month time period to provide feedback to the client around key milestones. The Consulting Service also offers other programs such as workshops and seminars.
The Consulting Service can assist in
- program planning/strategic planning;
- artist training;
- fundraising and promotion;
- community collaborations/effective partnerships;
- evaluation;
- improving healthcare facility design and environments; and
- responding to growth and taking programs to the next level.
Projects can range from specific technical assistance such as designing a job description, creating a survey, feedback on a grant application, or developing guidelines for exhibitions to thinking through a strategic plan. Prospective clients can request the number of hours that would be most appropriate for their needs. more..
